It did what Kaspersky and other big time AV suits couldn't do for 3 days --
and it did it with ease in 20 min..

ComboFix does NOT fix "viruses" !

Now run MBAM and HJT then post all of your logs to an appropriate forum for
review by an expert so that you know the machine's REALLY clean.

??? Then what does it do. I was inundated with pooping up windows in FireFox
and it fixed the problem by finding and deleting a whole malware setup. As I
mentioned, the log says 90 files were deleted and a whole bunch of registry
entries.

You mean the peepingcomputer.com forum?

It removes specific trojans.

| Oh, I see... I meant fix your computer/deliver it from viruses :o)

No. All viruses are malware but not all malware are viruses.

Viruses are specific self replicating malware.

For example the Virut. ComboFix will not clean a Virut infected file.

Sorry, I don't know much about all this. All I know is that ComboFix
definitely fixed my computer by removing a lot of malware, if I may call it
so.
Kaspersky was not even able to find anything or intercept, with all the
protection enabled.

So it's designed to remove only certain Trojans that other programs have
hard time with, right?
Are you saying that all those 90 files on my computer were those specific
Trojans. Or do trojans multiply, too?

Yes, that's the correct, generic, terminology if you do not know exactly what was removed.

However, ComboFix is a utility to be used with assisted help in Expert Forums and is not
ment to be used casually.

See my other reply.

Well, I didn't act on any info displayed by ComboBox, just let it run its
course. The result: it rid my computer of the malware problem and didn't
break any important OS functions along the way.
I do have a log file displaying what has been removed and a bunch of other
info. I don't really feel a need to show those logs to anyone, because my
system seems to be fine. I just upgraded to KIS 2009 and it's not showing
any suspicious activity.

...it rid my computer of the malware problem

How about any other malware problems that ComboFix won't detect on its own?

This just may be an illusion :-)
