Since I've been using Windows XP Pro, I have not been able to figure out how
to make file lists display the way I want them to appear, such as those that
appear when you want attach a document to an e-mail, or to save a file in
program.
In Windows 98SE, I was able to specify sorting files in Details view and by
Date Modified, and the files in a folder would display in that order with
the subfolders listed at the top of the list. In Windows, every time I have
to attach a file or open a file in a program, I have to first click on
Detail View, then re-sort the file list alphabetically, to get the folders
to the top of the list, then by Date Modified, then I can finally go looking
for the file I want. In some cases where sub-sub-folders are involved, it
may take as much as six operations just to open the file I'm looking for.
How can specify how I want files displayed and have it *stick,* so I don't
have to go through this rigamarole several times a day?
