Want IP address and The HOST name in an inter network?

Hi i am trying to learn the network programming and now i have a proble.I
wanna create an application that automatically scans all the active machine
and dispaly all its IP and Host names?

Kindly reply to me as early as possible

As advice, ask this in a language newsgroup.

In don't know about the others, however I have seen a lot of answers for
your question in the newsgroup
microsoft.public.dotnet.languages.vb

I thought that Tom Shelton is mostly answering this kind of questions so
maybe you can search than for that.
