Wandering icon

on my lower right desktop (XP Home) is an icon that, after hibernation
is moved to the left center screen. If replaced to it's original
position it remains in its place after reboot, but after every
hibernation it is moved.

It did this about a year ago for a few weeks but I disremember what, if
anything, I did to stop this behavior. Under "Arrange Icons", nothing
is checked other than Show Desktop Icons. Any suggestions?

Have you tried moving it back and then immediately reboot?
Then check after the next hibernation?

Yep. Same all over again. Is there any way to lock the desktop?
