Hello

We are getting event ID 31 and 11 every 5 minutes on all of our DC's. We have 4 DC's running Windows 2000 SP4 and the latest patches

All the DC's are experiencing the same problem with the w32time

Event 11 says: "NTP didn't respond
Event 31 says: "Trying to set time prior to 1995

They both occur at the same time

When running "w32tm -once -v" from the command prompt, I get the following in the middle of the "dump"
-Recv failed - SOCKET ERROR 1005

Your help is greatly appreciated

Check to make sure that you've got UPD123 open on your firewall. I'm not
sure if TCP123 is needed (I use ISA to just allow 123 ;-) )...

Also, make sure that the server that is set to synchronise time is the PDCE.

How is that port opened? By user group or statically by IP address?

This still sounds like a comms issue!
