I have a small business with a Windows 2000 Domain
Controller. For some reason I cannot seem to find a
reliable public time server for synchronization and as a
result, I receive several event warnings per day
detailing "The NTP server didn't respond."

When setting up the time server, I am using the NET TIME
command and it appears to configure successfully, however
the synchronization attempts fail, triggering the events.
The DC is sitting on a private IP behind a SMC router,
however I have configured the router to forward all NTP
traffic (port 123) to the DC.

Anyone have any ideas?

See tip 4167 and linkl in the 'Tips & Tricks' at http://www.jsiinc.com

A few failures a day are normal.
