W32.Blaster.Worm

I need some help here. I obviously got the worm and I've
been following the directions as to get rid of and fix
it. I downloaded the MS patch and also got a "fix it"
tool from Symantec, but when I run the fix it tool is
says, W32.Blaster.Worm was not found on your computer.
I'm stuck and can't figure it out. Any suggestions???

I downloaded that patch and AFTER it installed, I had the virus. It was
ZoneAlert which alerted me that msblast.exe wanted to act as server.
My Norton then stopped scanning. I had to d/l the fix and then
uninstall and reinstall Norton. Hopefully I am clean now. I figured
that the patch put the file msblast.exe on my computer as that was the
first time that I was asked to allow that to act as server. Anyone else
know anything about this?

The patch is not the fix. The fix is the removal tool (from
Symantec or others). The patch (from Microsoft) stops you
from being infected again. Applying only the patch does not
rid you of the worm.
