W2KProfessional slow when Internet connection is on

My desktop PC, AMD K7 600 Mhz, 128 MB RAM becomes really slow when my Internet connection is on
When it's off, my pc works very fast
I try to launch IExplorer or MSOutlook but I've some difficulties; sometimes, my pc keeps on writing on HD then launches the desired application but it disconnects itself from Internet
I try to search viruses or spyware but without any result
I think it's a bad management of Internet connection and other local connection

Check the processes tab in the task manager (sorted by CPU utilization) and try to locate the offending process (if there is one
