W2K upgrade failure

Systems hang at the Windows 2000 splash screen after
upgrading NT to 2000 with the Microsoft CD. The splash
screen freezes at about 75% on the status bar.

We have over 300 Dell Optiplex GX-150 and GX-110's that
need to be upgraded, rather than a clean install, to
preserve other software and configurations.

THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!! I'm having the exact same issue
after upgrading from NT to 2K. I'm going to try your
solution. I was pulling my hair out trying to find out
what the problem was and your's was the first "real"
solution I've found.
