W2K Client can't access folders on server

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could give me a solution to this
problem.

I have several PCs (all running W2K Pro) belonging to a domain. One of the
PCs can't access a shared folder intermittently. We have to go to Network
Places, click on directory and then the domain server before being able to
access the shared folder again.

There seemed to be no problems with the same folder with all other PCs. I've
checked the configuration on the server side on the priviliges assigned to
users but could not find a problem. Perhaps I've missed something.

Please help.
 
make sure PC is running sp4 and has all the latest updates.
also install the latest network card driver from the manufacturers webbsite.
 
Thanks Jason for your suggestion. SP4 has been installed but will check if
all the latest updates have been installed and that the card driver is the
latest.

Hi Gerald.

I would also suggest trying a different network card the PC to eliminate a
hardware issue.
