W2K Advanced Server with 4GB RAM

I have configured a Proliant DL380G3 with 4GB memory. The
Propoerty tab on "My Computer" Shows only 3.8Gb memory.

Whereas the hardware counts 4GB meory correctly.

What is the workaround?

It is being used by your SCSI controller and is totally normal on servers.

Actually, its allocated to the PCI Bus, as this behavior will be noticed on
servers that dont have SCSI components on them.

If you disable Compaq's hot PCI swap feature, you'll get some (but not all)
of that memory back.

But nutcracker is right. The PCI bus steals some of your memory for its own
use. (I don't know any details on this so I may be oversimplifying there.)
