Hi,

Make a partition for Windows 2000 then leave the rest of the drive blank.
After you install 2000, you should just be able to install Linux and it will
set up everything for you - but don't quote me on it - always make a backup
first

hi,
you also asked for a alternate linux. i DO NOT want to say suse is better,
just only that SuSe 8.2 puts automatically a entry for existing windows
installations into grub bootlist menu.

Mandrake puts in a section for Windows into LILO which IMO is a much better
boot manager then Grub
