w2000 sata support??

does windows 2000 support sata hard drives? my asus
P4C800-E motherboard has a Promise SATA controller and I
need to find out if w2000 will be an option for me.
 
SATA driver must be supplied by hardware
mgfr.

Should come on a CD with the MB.
