"Error: Could not execute Main. The System cannot find
the file specified."

I'm getting this error and don't know how to fix it. My
Dell laptop won't turn off any more--it just restarts
when I try to shut down. Also there is a fast flash of
message when booting that wasn't there before but it does
not remain up long enough for me to read it. Any ideas?
thanks.

Hi,

Wjview: Remove the runkey from here:

Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\Run

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\Run

To verify your version, go to Start/Run and type in: wjview

MS JVM Version 3809
http://tinyurl.com/fwvu

MS JVM Version 3810
http://tinyurl.com/fwty

Once 3809 is installed you can get the Update 3810 - 816093
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=816093

For your second issue:

Disable everything that reads 'Wake up' in the BIOS settings. Also, I have
seen this behavior if you have a CD/DVD in the drive during a shutdown.

For your third issue:

The screen has to do with your system not being able to shut down properly
and goes hand in hand with your second problem. It is telling you that
Windows didn't have time to log the event.

The startup is trying to run a Java program that has been deleted -
WJView is the launcher for the Java engine. There seems to be some
trojan around of this sort, and the AV programs remove the Java file
without removing the entry to run the WJView and launch it: hence the
error message. Start - Run - MSConfig and in the Startup page look for
a line for WJView as command and uncheck it
