If you have Ad-Aware you can get an add-on VX2 removal
tool from the Lavasoft site.

Fwiw, I just cleaned vx2.abetterinternet.transponder.ceres
from a test system tonight - worked fine, but left behind an entry in add or
remove programs.

Yes, I have a feeling that the versions that I can easily find are passe.

Just an update. I've used the Vx2 plug-in, and it reports the system is
clean, even though running Ad-Aware immediately after will catch 3 DLLs that
are Vx2 related.

VX2, although not as fast moving as CoolWebSearch, is a system which has
regular changes and updates, keeping everybody on their toes.

If you've got a VX2 variant that isn't getting removed by the tools you
have, best to go to an antispyware forum and post a HijackThis log. There
may be brand new tools to remove your version, or it may need to be done by
hand.

You should, however, remember to check add or remove programs--the newer
variants do have entries there, although I'm not certain that they work--but
they may well.
