vuescan & panoramic stitching....

i've taken a number of 35mm slides as a series of panoramas. i took all
the photos on manual at the same settings and when viewed on a light box
they appear to have the same exposure in the sky across all 5 frames. i
came to scan them in and did a preview on the first scan then fixed the
exposure in vuescan. however, the colours / exposure seems to change
slightly from one picture to the next. i have also tried simply running
off raw scans and then stitching them together, but i'm still getting
colour / exposure variations.

is there a proper way of doing this, my set up is, minolta 5400, vuescan
1.8.25 (i get better colours with .25 than .35!), velvia 50, pano tools
assembler.

Yes, that's how it should be done. However, you should be aware that
some lenses exhibit more vignetting than others. If you use a small
aperture, then that should be less of an issue, so make sure you stop
down to at least f/8 which will also help depth of field.

Locking exposure is usually done on the most transparent film frame in
a sequence. After locking exposure, and doing another preview, make
shure you also lock image color.

bart, where is the image colour check box?

"Lock image color" is on the input tab, at the bottom of the list of
options. It may be hidden if you didn't lock exposure and performed a
new preview first.

1. scan unexposed negative(calibrating orangemask)
- preview
-input lock exp.
-preview
- lock film base

2. scan both parts.
these are simple instructions used with coolscan II(ls-20),
starting with ls-30 there is a more precise instruction. pls ask erik
krause(germany).
