Vuescan and Mictotek 1800f

Ted Harris

Anybody have any experience using Vuescan with the 1800f? Especially for
scanning transparancies? I am a long time Vuescan user and have no desire to
switch to different software. However, I am contemplating a purchase of the
1800f and several folks hae strongly recommending using Silverfast instead.
I'm not inclined to follow their advice but want to see what others have to
say.

Thanks,

Don't have any experience with the 1800f and VueScan but you'll get the
full version of SilverFast with that scanner. I have considerable
experience with SilverFast and it is very full featured scanning
application once you get used to its interface. Cost issues aside, I
much prefer SilverFast to VueScan. BTW, I'd be interested in knowing why
you are choosing the 1800f. I've just been up to Microtek to demo the
1800f and 2500f. I also had an Epson 4870 for a day....If you want to
discuss this further....email me, be sure to remove NO from my email
address....
