Vuescan 8.0 + Epson 3170

There seems to be a problem with support for the 3170 scanner with
Vuescan 8. If the scanner is turned on when Vuescan starts then
Vuescan immediately crashes. My other scanner FS4000 works fine with
version 8 and the 3170 works with Epson software but not with Vuescan.
I've deleted Vuescan.ini and reinstalled the Epson software but no
joy. If I reinstall version 7.6.84 then it works fine with the 3170.

Yes, it seems to do this on Windows (not Mac OS X) and I'm working
on this right now. I'm able to duplicate the problem.

This is fixed now in VueScan 8.0. You can download it from:

The problem was a compiler error with inlining strcpy - it was
quite obscure, and I don't really know why it showed up in 8.0
but not 7.6.
