VS05 web cache

In ASP.NET 1.1 and VS03 we have

C:\Documents and Settings\<user-name>\Local Settings\VSWebCacje

In ASP.NET 2.0 and VS05 we have the various randomly named folders such as :

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET
Files\root\f29ec7c5


What are the similarities and differences ?
 
i believe they're one and the same just different across vs studio
environments. in 1.1 the local cache was used to house the website
assemblies
