VPN log on problems with cached credentials.

What problem are you having exactly?

You are logged on with cached credentials only when logging on to a computer
configured for a domain access and you are not physically connected to the
network. The logon "works" and you get to your desktop even if you are not
authenticated by the domain; cashed credentials.

This feature can be turned off by means of corporate policie so no logon is
possible unless you are physically connected to the network. If you can't
logon with cashed credentials then you won't be able to do anything!

If this is you case then one way of getting arround that is to logon with a
local account, ex; the local Administrator account or any local account,
connect to the Internet, establish your VPN to the corporate network and use
the "Run as" feature to access domain resources or run programs.

For example if you need to map a drive, the local admin credential won't let
you access it, you will get an access denied error. You need to map it and
provide your domain credentials at the same time; Run As. Run as can also be
used to work on a computer where the currently logged on user doesn't have
enough right to perform the task.

Hope this helps!
