VPN Issues

I have a server in a location that I have set up so I can VPN to that has a
map able folder. I have set up the folder on my workstation that is running
Windows XP Pro SP2 with all the updates. Both systems have High speed
internet access and when I force the VPN connection connect with out errors,
but when I try to sync these folders I get a message that tells me I can not
have multiple connections to the same shared resource. I would also like to
set this up to sync the folder at logon to the system, can anyone point me to
a site that shows the set up to do this.

Thank you

Can this be done with out buying hardware or a thrid party program. The
workstation is windows XP with all the updates installed and the server at
the other end is windows 2000 server fully updated?
