VPN connected but I lose email service, Why?

Can you tell me how to use VPN and still have internet
service? I am using WindowsXP pro. Also how can I connect
two computer to one computer running Windowsxp pro thru
VPN. It tells me that a similar connection already exist.
 
Right click your vpn in network places / properties /
networking / highlight "TCP/IP" / properties / advanced
button / untick "use default gateway on remote network"

If that option is ticked, you will only have internet
access if the remote computer is set up for external
routing. Clearing the box will allow your PC to use it's
own default gateway whilst the vpn is connected
