Volume, Mix and ASP analysis - Help

I was wondering if anyone has a template that would analyse the change in
revenue from one period to the next with a split out for the teh Change in
ASP's (Average Selling price), Volume and Mix.

As an example:

Period 1
Part a
Units 1000
ASP 4.00
Revenue 4000

Part B
Units 2500
ASP 3.50
Revenue 8750

Period 2
Part a
Units 3000
ASP 3.75
Revenue 11250

Part B
Units 2000
ASP 3.25
Revenue 6500

Total REvenue in Period 1 is 12750
Total Revneue in period 2 is 17750

Total Delta is 5000

Now how much of the delta is ASP driven, versus mix or volume??

If you hold volume constant...and modify the ASP, you can get the delta
between ASP and (mix/volume) combined...but I am looking for a way to split
out mix and volume.

Any thoughts or templates?

I believe the following are the correct formulae.

Affect of Change in Price:

(Period 2 Price - Period 1 Price) * Period 2 Volume



Affect of Change in Volume:

(Period 2 Volume - Period 1 Volume) * Period 1 Price

Hi Paul, and thanks for responding. I agree, those are the formulae for ASP
and volume...I was looking for a way to tease out the impact of mix...ie, you
had 2000 more of part a, and 500 less of part B.

Any thoughts? Again, appreciate your time.
