Volume drops when new IE window or Tab is opened

Every time I open a new IE window or Tab the Volume Mixer drops the volume of
IE. I need to go back in each time and raise the volume slider to be able to
hear sounds in IE. This is getting really old! I am running Windows Vista,
IE 7 and a standard HP factory image.

Please help!!!

A web page can have html code in it to set the volume. I would guess you are
set to a 'home' page that does that. The source would have an entry like
<bgsound volume=1 ...>

No unfortunatly it is not based on the HTML code in the page.

Everytime I open an additonal IE tab or window the volume drops to zero in
the volume mixer. This is the case no mater what link you click one or even
open a blank tab.

It only happens in Vista.

To get the volume back you need to keep raising the IE volume tab in the
Volume Mixer
