volume / display

I used to have a visible "bar" display on the bottom of
my screen whenever I raised or lowered the volume using
the auxilliary volume control buttons. Also a Mute ON
Mute OFF display when activated or visa versa. This
display is no longer visible and I was wondering how to
reactivate it?

Hi Tim,

Go to Start/Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices. On the Volume Tab under
Device Volume, put a check in the box that reads: Place volume icon in the
taskbar.

Volume Control Icon Disappears from the Notification Area:

Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

Have you yet checked the "Sound and Audio Devices" applet in Control Panel?
