Vlookup

Help! I am comparing Invoices numbers on two large spreadsheets and have
this formula. The Problem I have is that it is not showing me the correct
results. I've done a quick manual search and found the invoices are on both
sheets.

=VLOOKUP(E3,'[Metrossl billing.xls]Sheet1'!$A:$C,1,FALSE)

What can I do?

In A:C column which either B or C column results can be retrieved
using the vlookup,
but in your formula u trying the 1 column (col A) results. Check out
again change the value 1 to 2 or 3 as required.
