VLookup limitation?

Below is my Data:
Using
VLOOKUP
Col A Col B Col C (Ascending) TO LOOK RESULTS
May NOV 2005 2005 May
September APR 2006 2007 July
July JAN 2007 2006 September
January FEB 2005 2008 #N/A


How Can I get results mentioned in Results column using VLookup function.

As you know VLookup searches "Lookup_value" value in left-most column (Col
A) of "Table_array" but I want Vlookup to search in right-most column (Col
C) of "Table_array" & give me the corresponding result from Col A.

I have tried "Offset" function but could not succeed, although "Lookup"
function furnish the wanted result but It

Am I clear, if not I can forward you the Excel file.

Use INDEX(MATCH()):

=INDEX(A:A,MATCH(Lookup_value, C:C, FALSE))
