Vlookup hyperlink

Dear All

I am using Office 97 :( And want to try to do a vlookup but the value I want to retrieve is a hyperlink, when doing this it returns the text but the hyperlink doesn't work

Is there anyway this can be done

That doesnt work with .doc files also I dont really want to show a massive path but just the name for example.
 
Hi Adam
should also work with doc files depending on what is in the search
range. You may provide some more detail. e.g. some example rows of your
sheet (plain text - no attachment please) and your current formula
