VLOOKUP formula results strange after copying down

Excel 2003 - I have a VLOOKUP formula which I have copied down the column.
When I check the formula it has copied down correctly, yet the result
returned is that for the first cell in the column for every single one.

To get the correct result I have to double-click every single cell
containing the formula, which will then show the correct result.

This has only started happening recently. Has Excel corrupted in some way?

I've run detect and repair and this is also happening with more simple
formulas. It's as if they are not actually calculating??

Sounds like you have manual calculation, Tools>Options>Calculation. Check
the setting.

I've got the same issue, except that my automatic Calculation IS turned on.
So weird!

Any other ideas?

Post an example of your formula - you might have used absolute
addressing for the lookup value, so that you are always looking for
the first cell. Perhaps your table range is not quite what you think
it should be.

Hope this helps.
