vlookup - can't pick up table array

I have 2 spreadsheets. When I type in the vlook up formula and get to the
table array section I go over to the other spreadhseet and highlight the
range of cells (the table array) but its not picked up in the formula.

Any suggestions?

Highlight the table array then select Insert>Name>Define then give the table
a name. In the vlookup formula type the name you have used to define the
table.
