Visual C ++ Runtime Error

Why do I get Runtime error
Program:\C:\ProgramFiles\internet explorer\Iexplorer.exe
R6025 pure virtual function call ?
This happens intermittently when starting Comcast
browser, then closes browser when error window closed.
