VISTA/Word 2007/MSN Spell check

New computer with Vista/Word 2007. Using MSN for email. Spell check not
available for email. MSFT Customer service says "Sorry - known problem, deal
with it, or buy an old version of Word 2003 for $49." Any suggestions? I'm
a miserable typist, and spell check helps to keep me from looking like a
total idiot.
 
Thanks for the reply. Problem is: I don't have a copy of Office 2003, and
fail to understand why I should have to pay $49 to get an old version of
Word/Office. Best I've got is a version of Word 2000, but no longer have the
16 Digit (or whatever) ID code, and besides, being old, not sure if it would
be compatible with VISTA
