Vista Won't Boot and it was running just fine

I have been using Vista for several weeks and it worked fine.

I downloaded MS Save as PDF and installed it. I then uninstalled Adobe
Acrobat 6.0. The computer rebooted and now Vista will not start .

I tried System Restore and went back before the PDF install and Acrobat
Uninstall. Both Restores were sucessful. I tried System Recovery tools,
Start-up Repair and tried all of the BootRec parameters. Although all of the
processes were successful, nothing worked and Vista still will not boot.

I start my IBM ThinkPad, see the IBM splash screen and then a blank black
screen. The hard drive is working. I listened to it and it seems to be making
a repetitive sound indicating that it is might be in a loop. The memory is
fine. I am able to start from the Vista DVD, but none of the options under
Repair fix the problem. I even tried to Install Vista again, but after
entering the product code, the install doesn't work. The message indicates
that Vista is already installed.

Any ideas?

If you really want to reinstal it, reboot with the Vista DVD in the drive.
It'll reinstall

I don't really want to reinstall Vista, but if it is the only option, I would
do it IF it allowed me to reinstall, which it doesn't. I already tried a
reinstall. I inserted the DVD, turned on the computer, clicked on Install,
entered the product code and got a Windows message that Vista is already
installed. It does not allow me to continue a new installation.

You can try doing a repair install.
What do you mean by you can start from the Vista DVD? List exact steps and
what happens at each step.
