a question please does office 2003 work with widow vista? thank u
allure

It would be quite an extensive testing effort to make sure every feature
works but people are reporting success with the combination except for OE,
which is replaced by Windows Mail. I've been running Office 2003 and Vista
Home Premium since the start. Is there some particular option you would
like to be verified? I have both type machines running here, Office 2003
with XP SP2 and Vista (kept fully updated but no SP1 yet), so I can check
both to see if it's a Vista problem or not.

Yes it does. There will probably be updates to install after you have
installed office 2003.
I have successfully installed and run Office 2000 on Vista. Others on this
news group have indicated that office 2003, office XP, and office 2007 also
works on Vista.

hi bob and tks for yr reply ...
the thing is no i dont have a specific issue ...i do have a pc with window
vista and office 2007 on it and its ok but somehow i like the office 2003
more as i am more at ease with it...
i just bought a laptop ofcourse with window vista with it and i was thinking
to put the office 2003 instead of 2007 so that is why i asked is it works
well with window vista and it will not cause me any problem?? so do u advise
to put the office 2003 on window vista?? thanks.

You will have to uninstall Office 2007 before installing Office 2003.

If you are an Outlook user, you will have to re-enter your user name and
password each time you start the program. I don't know of any other
problems, but there may be some.

It is generally accepted that, other than the Outlook issue, it runs ok..

That's very strange. I do not remember having that problem when I was using
Vista with Office 2003. Are you sure you aren't talking about Office 2000??

Actually, it's Office XP with Outlook 2002 that has the email account
password issue. There are also a couple of issues with Outlook 2000.

I remember a friend of mine having this problem with Outlook 2000 as well
though, but I may be mistaken. However, if the later Outlook 2002 had the
older way of encrypting the password, surely Outlook 2000 would have as
well.

I am using office 2003 with vista and have not run in to any problems but I
do know that office 2000 has problems when running with vista - good luck.

You could be right as well.

I'm basing part of what I know on the information
at the link below. I did install a copy of Office XP
on an earlier Vista beta, and Outlook would not
remember the email passwords. Never did try
Outlook 2000.

I was fairly sure that all Outlooks other than 2007 had the password issue,
but I could be wrong. It may only apply to Outlook 2000/2002. Whatever, the
earlier versions should be patched completely.

Outlook 2002 works if you install it outside of the program files
directory (at least it works with exchange server, never had the
opportunity to try it with a pop3 email).
