I have a new Dell XPS (purchaed this week) and suddenly as of this morning,
windows Vista will not shutdown. When I select the shutdown function, the
computer continually restarts instead of actually powering down. I have
tried to trace the offending variable in the Event Viewer but the Viewer does
not offer any obvious area to modify. I have been trying to avoid an OS
reinstall since I have almost completed the transfer of all files/programs
from my previous computer.
I have disabled all 'wake up' functions in power management to no avail. Any
suggested areas to explore to allow a full shutdown??
