Vista Updates Will Not Uodate?

S

Steven Hilgendorf

Hello,

The past three or four days I have been having trouble with the last two
Vista updates, kb941600 and kb941649. Vista update keeps trying to
install them and restarting the system, but they seem to fail and then
update starts all over again.

I tried downloading, and installing, the two updates manually without
success. Update still tries installing them and restarting, again
without success. I also tried installing them in safe mode, but they
indicated they couldn't be installed in safe mode. I do not know what
else to try?

Any suggestions and/or recommendations would be appreciated,

Steven

Hi Nelia,

Welcome to the Vistax64.com forum.

From your description, it sounds like the KB941229 may have been the
cause since it had a failed to install the first time. It may have been
interrupted during installation causing the problem. It would be up to
you if you consider it to be needed. You can read up on what all it is
for here.

If you would like to try and install it again, then this tutorial will
show you how to easily uninstall if needed.

If you would prefer to just ignore it, then this tutorial will show you
how to hide it so it will not keep showing up in the available updates
list. You can always unhide it when you like.

Thank you Andre,

Just glancing at this information, it appears to address the Vista 64
version? I'm running Vista Ultimate 32bit. Could this be my problem?

Thanks again,

Steven
