Vista Top Features?

aero yes.. lame because its capable of more
that meets the eye, but im not seeing any
ultimate extras taking advantage of it other than dreamscene...

uac is stupid, good idea but horribly implemented as MS has admited (and now
is changing the way it works in windows7) lets not get into that...
lol

What would you guys say? UAC/AERO?

The UAC prompts. The sheer delight in seeing another UAC prompt. The relish
of a few extra clicks of a mouse button over shadowy screens.

If a virus scanner deserts you, a malware detector fails you, then you need
not fear, for all is not lost - you still have the prompts. The prompts
protect you, have your best interests at heart, *and* will never ever leave
you.

Vista is better at anything and everything that that POS toy os called
ubuntu can do...LOL!
Everything!!!

Not everything, the 'Desktop Effects' of Ubuntu/Compiz are FAAAAAR superior
to Aero in everyway, which includes the speed/CPU hit and customization.
You can turn on one effect, or all of them. You can choose what effects to
do with what operation, the time duration, and quality of each individual
effect as well. You can even select apps to not use the effects. You can
have effects on windows but not menus, or on everything but dialog boxes,
or.....

Of course, one thing Windows is much much better at is becoming infected
with viruses, trojans, and malware.

Oh really? When is the last time your Vista install was infected, huh?
You do have Vista installed right/

I know Francis. Vista is much better at not restarting after an update and
far better at getting malware. It's also much better at getting confused
about what USB2 devices are connected to it and whether or not it needs to
be "activated" again. Next question?

Cheers.

You don't have nor can you afford Vista. You're full of sh*t. Time for
you to have your diaper changed old man. Have alias do it for you when
he is finished with the sheep and you're are finished with RS.

Everything!!!
That is a worthless eye-candy feature.

None-the-less, it is part of 'Everything'.

Ergo, Vista is not better at 'Everything'.

It may be worthless to you, but not to everyone. I had thought the same,
but you know what, it was because it never seemed to work right. I always
turned off fading menu's, and min/max animations. The main reason was the
time factor it took to fade in/out the menu, to min and max windows. I've
got those set to 200ms duration. The 'burn' animation is wicked.

Here's another thing that I like, with Windows, a maximized window is a
maximized window, it can't be moved. You have to 'Restore' it to move it.
Under Ubuntu/Compiz, you can just grab a maxed window's titlebar and move
it. That's a pretty neat animation also, the window frame sort of
'sticks' to the sides of the screen up to a certain point, and then it
breaks away, and springs back to shape.

I'm not saying that it will happen, but I can see MS buying Compiz and
porting it to Windows, because after all, that is what they do right, buy
s/w rights to things that they have failed to do well themselves ?

The Vista desktop widget things are worthless in my opinion.

Folder browser panes that auto-horizontal scroll are worthless if not
downright annoying.

There's more worthless 'features' as well. Shall I go on ?

This is untrue ? No.
Oh really? When is the last time your Vista install was infected, huh?

I've never had a problem with any OS I've run. Looking at the advice
here, that STILL seems to be one of the first things to do when you are
having problems with Vista.

You don't have anything intellignt to say ?

Suprise, suprise.

Won't/can't happen. Compiz is GPL'd and Microsoft would never be allowed to
include it in its proprietary OS unless it distributed the source code with
it. That's something Microsoft will never do.

The Vista desktop widget things are worthless in my opinion.
Francis finds this Vista gadget VERY useful. It helps him learn how to
count ...
