Vista SP2 - RC2

I have installed an Evaluation Copy 6002 of Vista SP2 earlier in the year. I
am now trying
to install RC2, but Vista wants an uninstall of 6002 before it will install.

Can someone please tell me how to do that ? It does not appear seperately
under programs in Control Panel/Uninstall.

If you have a prior version of SP2 installed, you must uninstall it prior to installing the RC Escrow build.

Manual uninstall:

Use the Control Panel applet "Programs and Features" and select "View installed updates" from the top
left of the task pane. Under Windows, look for KB948465 and uninstall.

Please wait 1 hour after uninstalling a prior build before installing the newest version.
The installer service needs to clean up and complete the uninstall prior to installing a later build.
Failing to do this can result in installation errors.

Go to control panel and click on Programs and Features. In the programs and
features window look on the left of the window. You will see a blue band
down the site. Click on the 'view installed updates' A list of installed
updates will now appear. Look down the list for a section marked Microsoft
Windows, you should see an update there marked Windows Vista service pack 2
(KB948465) Click on this to remove it.

The average user should not install the release candidates for these service
packs.
It is irresponsible of Microsoft (Microsoft irresponsible? Who would have
thought?) to even allow downloading of these things to the public at large.
Microsoft doesn't even pay attention to legitimate feed back from
programmers and IT people, much less consumers, so there is no advantage to
installing a service pack RC unless you want problems if and when the final
version rolls out.
The public beta of Vista SP3/aka Windows 7 is a case in point: Microsoft
makes no secret that except for some obvious bugs this code is set in stone
and they don't give a rat's prostate gland emissions about public feedback.
The public beta of Vista was released under the exact same circumstances and
look at what a mess that was.
Microsoft never ever seems to learn anything from their fiascos. They are
the George Bush of the software industry. Vista was their Iraq and Win 7
will be their surge. Yes, the surge made things less bad in Iraq and that
will be the achievement of Vista SP3/Win 7.

Exactly correct. They are looking for bugs and not for new features. That's
what a beta test is for. The nearly release ready software is tested on as
wide a variety of hardware and software configurations as possible. As I
read in a blog somewhere recently...if you have suggestions for new features
for Vista 7 SP1 or Vista 8, the time to present them is now or shortly after
the release of Vista 7. The beta testing portion of a software cycle is for
squashing bugs and NOT for adding features.
