Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. I could install it but Ubuntu was just a lame piece
of junk.

Download Ubuntu, buy Vista anything. Install both on the same systems
beside each other and what do you get:

Ubuntu is faster to boot, stop, copy in or out, faster surfing, faster
downloads. Plain faster. If you like fancy, use Beryl. Has Vision
equivelent tools like Dia, which even come with UML symbols.

Ubuntu is out of the box read with OpenOffice tools, no 30 day time bombed
bating. Ready to go, no other office installs or licensing needed.

If people are tired of Vista, Ubuntu is a good choice. As are Fedora, Red
Hat and SUSE.

Sounds like Microsoft Vista Pushers have an inferiority complex with Ubuntu.

Ubuntu won't do any good for anybody. It will just annoy the user. If he
has an issue with Vista, he can reinstall then upgrade to SP1 and if he
still has issues he can use XP. Telling someone to use Ubuntu is pretty
damn stupid. Ubuntu is for geeks who like to tinker and Alias who can't
figure out what to do with a computer anyway.

Now go attend to your "3 companies"! That should keep you busy for the
next 4 minutes.

vista sp1 came through on windows update. It is on my
computer but wont install! becuase it wont install i cant uninstall
it? My problem is that my dual cores are running at 100% half of the

FIRST calm down, I have had cpu's running at 100% load for over 5
years now and there is NO damage to them!!!! It is called Distributed
Computing and that is what it does, run your cpu at 100% full load
24/7/365. Yes even quad cores are designed to be fine running at 100%
24/7/365. Now you get into overclocking and you MAY have issues. But a
standard processor will do much more than most people think!

Um, that post was posted before I installed Ubuntu. Like you, I had
believed the FUD coming out of Redmond. Turns out, Ubuntu was easy to
install then and easier to install now.
