Vista SP 2

C

it worked for me, but then the thing is that you have to unsinstall it
before installing the final sp2...

I would say wait until its final... the beta doesn't add much that you can
notice anyway

Has anyone installed SP 2 Beta for Vista?

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...cc-362a-4b4d-b62b-22780e839a7e&displayLang=en

If you have installed it, is it working O.K.?

Beta software is test software that, by definition, still has bugs in
it. It exists for people to test and find still more bugs so they can
get fixed. If it didn't have known bugs, it would be released by now,
not beta test software.

In my view, it's foolhardy to install beta software *unless* you have
a spare, non-production machine to run it on, you don't care if you
have to reformat the drive and reinstall Windows, and you are the kind
of person who enjoys playing with test software and finding and
reporting problems with it.

Unless you have a test machine running Windows Vista it isn't wise to
install 'beta' software. By deign beta software can be very buggy and can
case numerous problems. It isn't wise to install it on a machine you use for
your work.

But to answer your question, Yes I have installed it numerous times and
haven't had any major issues with it.

To answer your question Yes I have installed it on one of my test machines. It has
bugs as expected from any Beta release and I advise you in no uncertain terms not to
install it on a production machine that you use day to day unless you are ready to
reformat daily (in most cases)

Not Daily but quite often. On the machine I have this SP2 on it is only Vista and
SP2. One at a time I am adding a single program like SQL and then remove SQL if
nothing wrong then I add as an example Office 2000. On and on. I am finding that
some that I add creates a problem sometime . I document it and then reformat and
start over again adding new suites and programs. My documentation is then sent .

Mike I still see the pop ups for Cap Lock and Volume. I'm using a Microsoft
Wireless laser 6000 version 2 keyboard.

After a reboot, nothing worked. So I paid a visit to the keyboard functions
in Control Panel. Despite the fact that there is no provision to toggle the
functions on and off, they are now working again. I have a feeling that
success will be short lived though.. :)

Well if Microsoft makes you angry, why not throw away all your Microsoft
software since you don't know what to do with it anyway and head on over to
the Ubuntu world. You can be a Ubuntu zealot just like Alias and his band
of thugs.

Just FYI. Did I say Just FYI? If not, then Just FYI
