Vista Shutdown Freeze

We are having a problem where Vista will not complete
a shut down. It will get most of the way there, but then
you have to power it down manually to finish the shutdown
or reboot.

This happens after accessing files on a shared folder from
another computer.

There are no obvious messages in the event logs or error
popups.

Does anyone have any idea how I could determine what is
happening?

Thanks!!!

Sometimes, it just looks like it's hung up. Frequently, because of write
caching, the computer has to finish writing data across the network. It can
take a while, depending on how big the cache was.

Thanks for the reply! I tested that and it is still hung 10
minutes and more later.
