Vista Lover

A couple of day ago, I read on http://www.betanews.com that microsoft
suspended the beta program due
to problem reported to the newsgroups. Well, does that mean that we won't
get SP1 at all now?
I was wondering.

The beta is over, and SP1 has been released to manufacturing. It will
available for public download in mid-March.

Thanks Ken. That is what I thought.
Waiting on March then. It will be in a couple of weeks.

SP1 RTM is here already and available to OEMs and to Technet subscribers.

Supposedly it is not available widely through Windows Update, although there
seems to be a registry fix that will trigger Windows Update to download and
install SP1.

Also, it *seems* that users of x64 Windows Vista as of today are now getting
the update through Windows Update, although this is not confirmed as yet.

You're welcome. Yes, probably on update Tuesday, which is March 11.

I can confirm it, the 64-bit version is available now from Windows Update.
