Do you, by clean, mean;{
the computer has not been used before, or, the hard drive(s) do not contain anything
(Such as another operating system)
}

Could you describe every choice you make up to the 'second step' and what
this 'second step' is?

E.g.

0. Turned on computer with Vista RC1 DVD in drive.
1. pressed any key to boot from CD/DVD
2. *second step* ...

Okay, clean means, thas the hard drives do not contain anything, nor another
operating system..

Step one is: After booting, vista finish the progress bar (loading
program-files), and then, step two: swap to a new screen and freeze... At the
bottom I can see a vague text.

Excuse me, for my english.

Hmm.

How long have you allowed Vista to stay at the 'frozen' screen before you '
have rebooted/shut down?

I had an experience similar to that in Windows XP 32bit where the screen
would appear frozen black for 10 minutes or so before it finally "unfroze".

Although; I also had the same problem you experienced with Vista RC1 and
I never managed to fix it.

When you install Vista, have you added some extra drivers for your
SATA2 hard-drive to be detected?

Also;
Do you reformat the hard-drive for every installation attempt, so that
the boot manager etc is gone?
I had some problems with Vista and a previous Vista Boot manager being there,
only way to get Vista up and running was to remove the boot manager from vista.
