Kyle;
Are you a Technical Beta tester or a participant of the Customer Preview
Program (CPP)?
Since you are asking in these public newsgroups, you are probably
participating in the CPP.

In either case, the answer is the same.
Only Microsoft knows and for now they are not saying.
In the past some Technical Beta participants get the product they were
testing while CPP participants may get a certificate of thanks.

But nothing was promised to either group and nothing is what should be
expected.

Actually, I did have a dream about this. Several actually. In one I was
given a plastic cup that had the Windows logo on it. When I turned over the
cup, it turned into an card with a magnetic strip, like a credit card or
access card. For some reason I thought it had a message of thanks encoded in
it because the magnetic strip was so wide.

In the second dream, I met one of the employees and was given a tour and a
boxed copy of Vista. All I could think about was how cool it was.

Then I woke up and realized I was late - both times! Amazing what Vista does
to you, isn't it? I think I need a vacation...

Well considering Microsoft hasn't sent me one single email related to
the CPP since I joined (despite their promise to the contrary) I don't
even expect a certificate of thanks (not that I wanted one anyway).

But if I recall, I wasn't supposed to find out by accident about the
release of RC1 and RC2. I was to receive an email. They do have my
address. I get plenty of other crap from them. :)

Luckily I happened to be reading the right tech news/blogs at the right
time (twice).

I'll just be happy if Vista has lost 75% of the bugs in RC2 when it hits
the store shelves.

I have my doubts though. Frankly I'd have preferred yet another delay.

Unlike the Linux distributions I also use, people have to shell out good
money for Windows (Vista). I expect to get what I pay for.
