VISTA PREM BACK TO XP

CAN YOU HELP ME I UP MY COMPUTER FROM XP TO VISTA PREM. VISTA DOES NOT WORK
PROPERLY, LOCKS UP, SHUTS COMP. DOWN AND ALL KINDS OF THEIGS THAT SHOUD NOT
HAPPER..CAN I GET RID OF THE WIST AND GET MY XP BACK.................I DO
HAVE A LAP TOP WITH VISTA PREM. AND IS FANTASTIC....IT SEEMS IF VISTA COMES
WITH COMP. IT WORKS GREAT, IF YOU UP GRADE ITS NOT SO GOOD. (THE DESK TOP I
UP GRADES WAS LESS THES THAN 1 YEAR OLD, IT ALSO HAS 4 GIG RAM, PENT 4 HT)

Please release your caps lock. Typing in all caps is considered shouting.

You have to do a clean installation of XP. You cannot uninstall a Vista and
return to XP that way. Rather you boot the comptuer with your XP cd and
delete the Vista partition, create a new partition, format, and install XP.
You must have your XP drivers ready ahead of time so that you can reinstall
them after the installation of XP completes.

If you upgraded from XP to Vista, then I think that you can go to
Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs and find Vista someplace in that
list. Assuming you haven't deleted the backup file since your upgrade,
you should be able to roll back to XP.

No he can't. It won't be there. From Win98 to XP perhaps, but XP to Vista
no.

Use your XP CD to reformat your HD before re-installing XP. Vista isn't
working properly on your system because it hasn't got enough resources
to do so. Anything less than 1GB RAM is a complete and utter waste of
time.
I am using 2GB RAM and it is bearably slow for my purpose!!
Unfortunately, I can't put any more RAMS on my current system because it
hasn't got any slots left.

Otherwise:

After backing up any data you wish to transfer to the new OS
installation, simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be
offered the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part
of the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of
boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
