Vista on partial and XP safe?

Hi,
I have two partials (C and D)
as my C drive only had 10GB space and my D 153GB space,
can i install Vista on my D Drive safely and keep my XP system on my PC
running if i want to?

You don't specify, but assuming your XP is on C:
drive, then you should be able to install Vista
