Hi There

I have Vista Premium. I purchased a Buffalo Drivestation (500gb) Buffalo say
it is Vista Compatible but my computer does not recognize it. Plugged it
into my XP machine and that was fine. Anyone know what I am doing wrong
vista picks up my other external drives ok.
Any help would be appreciated as I have tried everywhere for a drive but to
no avail.

what is the model of your computer.
what is the model of your buffalo drive.

Go to each of the sites as above and download the latest firmware update for
your the units.

After updating to the lastest bios/firmware version, finally download the
latest vista driver.

This is a sure way to get the device to work you might be able to just
download the lastest buffalo vista driver but I am giving you full
information.

Post back your results, in this situation I believe the fault lies with the
firmware inside the buffalo device, your vista and machine are doing there
bit.

I know this due to seeing a 150Gb toshiba external drive not working, unit
was like 1 year old and not able to work in vista, not installing properly,
xp like you it was fine..

Tosh basicly confirmed what I said above.

good luck
