We've recently started upgrading our machines to vista and on a couple of our
machines we've got the problem where the user account never seems to be able
to retain the profile information.
When we first set up the machine we set a generic account (user name delete
me) which we then delete after we've joined the computer to the domain.
Before we log on for the first time we add in the user of that machine (Their
domain account) so that we can give them administrative rights.
When they log on though, whilst it contacts the server (we know this as it
pulls though logon scripts we've configures in AD) it doesn't seem to manage
to find the users profile information and so creates a temporary one.
Loging on as a different user doesn't have this problem.
