Now Vista will hit the stores before christmas = ???

I just saw on this website from a german dealer the following offers and I
phoned him up and he said "yes, you can have Vista on Disk with Key by next
month".

Microsoft Windows Vista SystemBuilder* Products available on 11 December
2006
http://www.software-trading.de/default.asp?Shop=4&prid=110&Par1=14330

Vista Home Basic ~85 Euro
Vista HomePremium ~108 Euro
Vista Business ~ 135 Euro
Vista Ultimate ~185 Euro

Vista Enterprise base package - 5 User ~ 1140 Euro
Vista Enterprise - 5 User Software Assurance ~ 615 Euro

(* that is like OEM in USA, but they have to be sold unbundled in german as
full products with all rights in activation and transfers for everybody
according to german law )

now how is this in USA or in general ?

Is MSFT fooling everybody by claiming January as the date ??

I see that they list the Vista 32-bit and 64-bit versions as separate items.
Does that mean if you buy Vista as OEM version (bundled with hardware or
unbundled) you will only get either Vista 32-bit OR Vista 64-bit?

obviously yes, you will have to decide what cpu.

Maybe retailboxes ( the expensive ones ) have both disks ?

AFAIR the Vista DVD is an all-in-one DVD, and you get your version
with your key - and you can upgrade between Vista version by means of
the same DVD but a new key.

x64 and x86 are separate DVDs. within x64 or x86, all versions are on the
same dvd....

Currently, only the x86 DVD image is available for download from MSDN...

There are currently only four product keys available (Home Basic, Home
Premium, Business & Ultimate) for Vista RTM, but no mention of whether these
are 32-bit or 64-bit...

Keys for other versions of Windows make this distinction clear e.g. Windows
XP Professional, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP
Professional IA64 Edition etc...

Same keys for either release.
