Vista MovieMaker - Unspecified Error

Vista Moviemaker does not start at all. Get an alertBox only saying:
"Uspecified Error".
How to fix this ?

Did it run at all, or did you get alerts all along for Movie Maker? Maybe
your pc isn't strong enough to open the new version (you didn't say what
hardware you are using)... If you think it's so, try downloading the XP
version of Movie Maker for Vista, from Microsoft Downloads:

It never ran. It is as it is out of the Box. Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21S .... Quite
capable machine otherwise ....

Restore to original state .... I am not going to do that, it took me half a
day to uninstall all the junk that came with it ....

The "Unspecified Error" also pops up after installing MovieMaker2.6 for
testing purposes.
But if I setup a new user account on the same machine the error does not
appear and moviemaker does work!
Any ideas please?
